DUBAI // Four jobless men have been found guilty of breaking into a shop and stealing Dh338,000 worth of jeans.

Dubai Criminal Court on Tuesday convicted the Pakistani men, aged between 28 and 52, of armed robbery, infiltrating the country and not possessing passports, as well as returning to the country after previously being deported.

They will spend a year in jail each before being deported.

The incident happened on March 2, in a Ras Al Khor warehouse owned by a 52-year-old Indian.

“The robbery must have happened during the night as we came in the morning at 9.45am to find the warehouse’s lock damaged and 141 boxes containing jeans missing,” said the owner, who called police.

Police managed to arrest the men and seize the jeans, which were in their possession.
