ABU DHABI // The UAE residents are in prime position to get the best seats for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix when tickets go on sale today. Tickets for the November 14 race are available from 4 to 10pm today exclusively to UAE residents. The rest of the world will be able to start buying tickets tomorrow at 10am. Ticket holders from last season's race had exclusive rights to buy tickets for three days last week.

In a change from last year, grandstand prices are uniform. And for an unspecified period, three-day grandstand seats will be available at a 20 per cent discount price of Dh1,600. Richard Cregan, chief executive at Yas Marina, said: "We looked at the experience everybody had last year and again it was down to the fact that every seat is a good seat. "Even with the early discount, people are not going to be paying any more for tickets. We felt that it was just an easier solution for everybody that they could just concentrate on where they want to sit and not the price."
