Delegations of the UAE Federal National Council and parliaments of Arab and Arabian Gulf countries yesterday withdrew from a seminar held by the Parliamentary Assembly of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (Nato) after organisers used the term Persian Gulf instead of Arabian Gulf.
The delegations withdrew from the second session of the seminar, Iran at the Crossroads, state news agency Wam said, after the Jordanian parliamentary delegation demanded lecturers and organisers use Arabian Gulf.
In response, the organisers had to apologise, Wam said.
