A flurry of accidents across Dubai caused heavy delays for commuters on Sunday morning.

One on Sheikh Zayed Road near the Safa Park interchange towards Abu Dhabi caused heavy congestion and tailbacks up to Wafi-Garhoud Bridge, according to @TrafficDXB.

Motorists on Sheikh Zayed Road were delayed further by another accident before Oasis Mall, towards the World Trade Centre.

Two more were reported in the emirate on Sheikh Zayed Road near Jumeirah Lakes Towers towards the World Trade Centre, and on Hessa Street after the Al Khail Road intersection towards Jumeirah.

An accident on Umm Hurair Road also led to heavy traffic.

Motorists heading to Dubai from Sharjah were met with usual congestion on Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Al Ittihad Road and Sheikh Zayed Road.

In the capital, an accident was reported at 8.41am on Al Raha Beach road, causing delays.
