First two-storey car park by Mawaqif unveiled in Abu Dhabi



The first Mawaqif steel-framed parking building in Abu Dhabi city was unveiled by the Department of Transport today.

The 8,252-square metre, two-storey car park can accommodate 562 vehicles and is located south of Al Falah Street, east of Baniyas Street and adjacent to the Ministry of Finance, Abu Dhabi Tawteen Council and Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development.

It has three entrance and exit points to allow easy access, and is equipped with fire alarms and extinguishers.

Mohamed Al Otaiba, general manager of Mawaqif, said the structure, created in just three months, was widely adopted worldwide as a feasible solution to the growing demand for parking.

Mawaqif standard fees of Dh2 per hour and Dh15 for a full day will apply.

Parking is free on Fridays and holidays.
