SHARJAH // A fire has gutted a used tyre warehouse in Sharjah’s Industrial Area 3.
No injuries or fatalities were reported, Civil Defence said.
The Civil Defence headquarters was alerted to the fire at about 7.34pm on Sunday. Firefighters from Semnan and Mweylih in Sharjah as well as from Dubai and Ajman participated in controlling the blaze.
Civil Defence teams were able to control the fire to stop it from spreading to nearby warehouses.
One witness described seeing the fire from his home.
“I live in a high-rise building, and I noticed a huge amount of smoke coming from the Industrial Area 3,” said Alexandar Varghese, a resident who lives near Sharjah City centre.
Forensic teams will investigate the cause of the fire.
