ABU DHABI // No one was hurt after fire gutted warehouses in Mussaffah on Sunday.

Civil Defence said the blaze destroyed “a big part of the goods” in the warehouses, which stored plastics, stationery and other highly flammable materials.

Captain Abdullah Hamad Al Tamimi, chief of media and public relations at the Directorate General of Civil Defence in Abu Dhabi, said investigations were ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.

Civil Defence and rapid intervention teams used water hoses and foam to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading to adjacent warehouses.

Officials called upon the owners and tenants of the warehouses to obey safety rules and to keep warehouses clean.
