ABU DHABI // Civil Defence teams tackled a fire at the Bani Yas Cooperative Society on Wednesday.
Three shops were destroyed in the blaze that started at around 4.45pm.
Colonel Mohammed Abdul Jalil Ansari, Director General of Abu Dhabi Civil Defence, said the rapid intervention of civil defence units prevented the fire from spreading to neighbouring buildings.
No one was injured in the blaze.
Col Ansari called on business owners to ensure their properties are fitted with fire safety and prevention equipment and that all electrical equipment is safe to use.
