A 24-hour visa service will be available for travel to the UK as of Monday.
Priority appointments will be available between 8am and 10am, Sunday to Thursday, at the British embassy’s visa application centres in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
The Dh3,500 service will enable applicants to find out within 24 hours if their visa application has been accepted. The option is available for a variety of visas.
“I am delighted that we are launching the UK super-priority visa service in the UAE – one of only a handful of countries where we provide this service,” said Philip Parham, British ambassador to the UAE.
“This underlines our strong commitment to making our already-excellent visa service more flexible. Opportunities in the UK often arise at short notice. The super-priority visa service offers another option for tourists, business people and students who need to travel at the last minute.”
The service will be available for GCC residents applying for a tourist or short stay visa, and UAE residents applying for worker, temporary worker and long-term student visas.
Travellers with an adverse immigration history are advised against using it.
