Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid held talks with the leaders of three African nations during a tour of Expo 2020 Dubai on Monday.

The Vice President and Ruler of Dubai met the presidents of Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mauritius on his latest trip to the world’s fair.

He said agreements were made to “raise our trade and investment exchanges” with the three countries.

Sheikh Mohammed also visited the pavilions of all three countries, as well as those of Kenya and Rwanda.

He was briefed on the cultural attractions and tourism projects of both Kenya and Rwanda as well as their investment in clean energy.

“The UAE is one of the largest global investors in Africa and accounts for 88 per cent of Gulf investments there,” Sheikh Mohammed wrote on Twitter.

He said ties between the UAE and Africa were “constantly developing”.

Sheikh Mohammed has been a regular visitor to Expo 2020 Dubai since its grand opening in October and has met a number of high-profile leaders at the event.
