Emirates Red Crescent held its fourth board of directors meeting on Sunday.

As well as approving ERC’s budget for this year and the closing accounts for last year, the directors reviewed a report on the authority’s humanitarian efforts in Yemen and Kurdistan.

According to the report, Dh664.3 million has been spent on humanitarian and development programmes in Aden, as well as neighbouring provinces.

Infrastructure projects accounted for the largest share of the financial support offered by ERC, at a total cost of Dh508.7m.

The report also highlighted the recent opening of the Debaga Camp in Erbil, built by ERC and consisting of 1,000 housing units, two schools, a mosque, a clinic, an administration centre, a bakery and a park.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region and chairman of ERC, presided over the meeting.
