RAS AL KHAIMAH // The Ministry of Environment and Water has released water accumulated in dams in Ras Al Khaimah after last month’s heavy summer rains.
The dams were located in the valleys of Shoka, Al Qushaish and Al Kassa in the central region of the emirate.
The ministry coordinated the dam gate opening in coordination with Al Maneei police station and the RAK department of public works.
Sultan Alwan, an assistant undersecretary at the ministry, said that opening and draining the dam gates allows rocky areas to benefit from the trapped rainwater.
