Rain fell across parts of Abu Dhabi on Tuesday morning as storm clouds gathered across the country.
The National Centre of Meteorology issued an alert on Tuesday morning forecasting rainfall in the capital.
The centre reported light rain in Abu Dhabi city, Al Shawamekh and Al Shelaylah.
Ominous clouds hung over the skies in Dubai, with the emirate braced for possible rain during the day.
The NCM forecasted a decrease in temperatures across the country.
The mercury plunged to as low as 7°C on Jebel Jais, Ras Al Khaimah.
Moderate winds will cause blowing dust.
Temperatures are expected to reach up to 27°C in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
It will be rough becoming moderate at night and Wednesday morning in the Arabian Gulf and moderate in the Sea of Oman.

Farage on Muslim Brotherhood
Nigel Farage told Reform's annual conference that the party will proscribe the Muslim Brotherhood if he becomes Prime Minister.
"We will stop dangerous organisations with links to terrorism operating in our country," he said. "Quite why we've been so gutless about this – both Labour and Conservative – I don't know.
“All across the Middle East, countries have banned and proscribed the Muslim Brotherhood as a dangerous organisation. We will do the very same.”
It is 10 years since a ground-breaking report into the Muslim Brotherhood by Sir John Jenkins.
Among the former diplomat's findings was an assessment that “the use of extreme violence in the pursuit of the perfect Islamic society” has “never been institutionally disowned” by the movement.
The prime minister at the time, David Cameron, who commissioned the report, said membership or association with the Muslim Brotherhood was a "possible indicator of extremism" but it would not be banned.
