The UAE is set for an unsettled spell with rain over the coming days, followed by a soaring temperature of up to 43°C.

Parts of the west coast and northern areas will experience showers on Tuesday, as a bank of cloud accompanied by gusty winds sweeps in from Saudi Arabia.

Forecasters warn the skies will be dusty and partly cloudy with rain at times.

The temperature will hover around 31°C or 32°C in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and conditions will be rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and moderate in the Sea of Oman.

Wednesday will bring further risk of rain in northern and eastern areas, but clouds are expected to become scattered by afternoon. Winds will drop a little, but could still kick up dust and sand.

By Thursday, the weather will be fair to partly cloudy, with temperatures hovering around 35°C on the coast.

The weekend will be hot and humid, reaching 37°C in Abu Dhabi on Friday and topping 43°C on Sunday in the capital.

The heat will be slightly less intense in Dubai, at about 36°C, climbing to about 40°C on Sunday.
