The UAE’s plans to combat climate change were highlighted at a panel discussion at Columbia University in New York.
Dr Thani Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, told the panel the country’s strategies aim at protecting its unique environmental resources, particularly in water and marine conservation.
He spoke ahead of a signing ceremony for the Paris Agreement on climate change, which is to take place in New York on Friday.
The ceremony is the first step in implementing the Paris Climate Agreement adopted in December to unite the world in taking action against climate change in their national domains.
