National Central Cooling Company, also known as Tabreed, reduced the amount of energy used in air conditioning by 1.3 billion kilowatt hours during 2015 – the equivalent usage for 44,000 UAE homes.
Using district cooling instead of conventional air conditioning allowed the company to reduce its emissions and save energy for other purposes.
“As a nation, the UAE places a high priority on safeguarding the environment and on playing a constructive role in reducing CO2 emissions,” Jasim Thabet, Tabreed’s chief executive.
