DUBAI // Arnold Schwarzenegger has lent his support to a climate conference to be held in Dubai next year.

The former California governor has agreed to join the organisation he chairs, the World Climate Region Summit R20, as an official partner to the World Green Economy Summit, which will be held in April.

The announcement follows a meeting with Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, chief executive of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), in Paris.

According to a statement by Dewa, Mr Schwarzengger “praised the efforts of Dubai throughout its ongoing efforts to become a hub for green economy and sustainable development”.
