Fire destroys UAQ perfume factory

UMM AL QUWAIN // A fire broke out in a perfume factory in the Umm Al Thuoob industrial area on Wednesday afternoon.

No one was injured in the blaze, which started at about 1.45pm, but the factory was destroyed, said a spokesman for civil defence.

The building and surrounding area were evacuated, with about 400 workers being safely removed.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze with the help of crews from Ajman, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah.
