A privilege card is being launched to support Emiratis working in fishing and agriculture.
The “Mawroothna” card will allow fishermen and farmers to benefit from discounts and other privileges, and encourage them to continue working in these professions, which are considered part of the country’s cultural heritage.
Dr Thani Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, announced the programme during a ministry meeting with farms in the country's central region. The card promotes partnership between companies and the ministry, he said, according to Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister newspaper of The National.
Dr Al Zeyoudi also visited the ministry Agricultural Innovation Centre, where he was shown several planned projects such as a greenhouse with a high-tech cooling system and studies aimed at improving agriculture and aquaculture systems.
