More than 60,000 pupils from 30 schools participated in a competition to create “forests” from recycled material.
The winners of this year’s competition, Our Own High School Al Warqa’a, received a Dh15,000 award from Bee’ah, the Sharjah environmental management company, to be used on sustainability programmes at the Dubai school.
The competition is part of a broader initiative aimed at pupils and managed by the Clean Energy Business Council called the Schools Environment Protection Programme.
