ABU DHABI // Damaged road signs are to be recycled in an initiative launched by Al Ain Municipality.
The project plans to recycle the boards into products including chairs, tables, dustbins, desk accessories and bookshelves.
The municality has already collected 55 tons worth of scrap material that can be used in the project.
Iman Al Daari, of Al Ain Municipality, said the initiative would serve several priorities in the municipality's strategic plan such as boosting sustainable urban development, upgrading public services, enhancing competency and achieving excellence.
