Emiratis raise green credentials

ABU DHABI // Three Emirati graduates from the Masdar Institute presented research papers in Morocco at the Mediterranean Green Energy Forum on the importance of solar energy for the UAE.

Mona Abdulla Al Ali, Sara Alshkeili and Mohammed Al Hosani represented the Institute at the forum.

"The acceptance of the papers by the high-level international conference indicates the extent of innovative and productive technology features analysed by the students," said Dr Mahieddine Emziane, the associate professor of materials science and engineering. "This international platform in Fes provided a strong impetus to such relevant region-specific innovations.

"All the papers submitted to this conference go through a rigorous peer-review process and, if accepted, are published by the Elsevier's international journal Energy Procedia."

The international arena also helped showcase Masdar Institute's work and its contribution to Abu Dhabi's human capital development efforts.
