Emirati naval officer's trial begins in US

The US trial of an Emirati naval officer accused of confining a Filipina servant to his home in Rhode Island began yesterday.

The officer, Col Arif Mohamed Saeed Mohamed Al Ali, who was studying at a US naval college, pleaded not guilty to visa fraud and lying to officials.
