DUBAI // An Emirati man was killed and another injured in an argument over money in Al Muraqabbat, Deira, a police source has said.

The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday morning and a brother of the suspect called police during the row, saying that the pair got into a dispute over a motorcycle.

The suspect had sold a bike worth no more than Dh10,000 to the now deceased man but had not received the full amount, said the source.

He added that, according to the suspect’s brother, the deceased man had a knife on him and stabbed the suspect first.

The suspect, in turn, took the knife and fatally stabbed the Emirati man in the abdomen.

The suspect sustained minor injuries, while the other man died on the way to hospital. Both were taken there by the suspect’s brother.

The two had been friends for a while, said the police source, adding that the case has been transferred to public prosecution.
