Emirates to operate special A380 flight for UAE fans heading to Gulf Cup final

UAE will face Oman in the final which takes place in Kuwait

A special Emirates A380 flight will be in operation to carry UAE football fans heading to Kuwait for the Gulf Cup final which takes place on Friday.

Emirates said the flight is on instruction of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai. It added that details of the flight will be released "as soon as possible".

The UAE will face Oman in the final after beating Iraq on penalties in the semi-final last night.

The national team had been held to a goalless draw through 120 minutes at the Jaber Al Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait City, but went on to win 4-2 in the shoot-out.

Alberto Zaccheroni's side will be seeking to win a third Gulf Cup crown.
