UAE University part of water security conference

UAE University has taken part in the opening of the International Water Security Network (IWSN) in South Africa. The delegation participated at the conference in Johannesburg under the theme Future Cities and the Risk of Water Security. Attendees included Prof Peter Werner, director of the National Water Centre, and Dr Ahmed Mourad, associate dean at the College of Science, who delivered a paper entitled “The fastest developing cities and their approach to water”. The presentation examined various case studies from the UAE compared to European countries. Dr Mourad said UAEU was the first Arab university to take part in the IWSN. The participation came under an agreement signed between UAEU and the University of the West of England. The presence of the UAE boosts its standing globally, Dr Mourad said.
