DUBAI // More than 500 events have so far been organised for UAE Innovation Week, which will be held next month.
Events will include presentations, workshops, conferences and competitions, according to the organising committee, state news agency Wam reported. After meeting on Wednesday, the committee revealed the event logo, which reads “UAE Innovates”.
UAE Innovation Week is an initiative launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, and will take place from November 22 to 28. The aim is to make a culture of innovation a defining element of UAE society.
Activities will take place across the country, with public and private organisations as well as research and academic institutions participating.
The committee commended the efforts of coordination team members to organise events at the emirate and city level, as well as cooperation among government entities, private companies, academic institutions and other organisations.
Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs, Abdullah Al Shaibani, secretary-general of the Dubai Executive Council, and officials from Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Sharjah attended the meeting with other officials and local committee members.
