More than 2,000 children will start their education at new schools in Abu Dhabi when the academic year commences next month. A total of 2,330 pupils will join new facilities, including two nurseries, Al Thuraya, in Al Bahia, and Al Nayfa, in Al Falah, with a capacity of up to 360 children each.

Also opening is Al Salam primary school for boys and girls, in Al Falah, which has a capacity of 1,250 children, and Al Misk Kindergarten, in Al Ain, which can accommodate 360 pupils.

Dr Amal Al Qubaisi, director general of Abu Dhabi Education Council, said the UAE leadership wants to give Emiratis every opportunity in life and education is a key part of that.

She added that Adec’s plans focus on creating a pupil-centred education system based on learning and the pursuit of knowledge in a safe environment.

The new facilities are community schools that are part of the Adec’s plan to help develop prosperous communities.
