DUBAI // Universities must update their curriculum as of January to include innovation and entrepreneurship, the Vice President has ruled.

On Monday, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, also Ruler of Dubai, launched a national programme in collaboration with Stanford University to introduce innovation and entrepreneurship in all disciplines of higher education in private and public universities.

The policy will require universities to update and revise their curriculum in line with the new requirements.

The programme aims to better prepare experts capable of contributing to the country’s next stage of development.

During the launch of the initiative Sheikh Mohammed said: “We aim to prepare the next generation for a time that’s different from ours, and to prepare them for a world that requires a different set of skills.

“Developing the right educational curriculums and tools will support the UAE in maintaining its global competitiveness over the next decade.”
