DUBAI // Students from Canadian University Dubai have raised Dh16,000 for to help those displaced in regional conflict zones in five days as part of a campaign.
The male students were sponsored to give up comforts such as their mobile phones and shower facilities before they slept outdoors in the university’s campus.
The females raised awareness and encouraged donations, which will be handed over to the Emirates Red Crescent in a ceremony on Tuesday.
The university has been participating in the annual campaign since 2012, after it was initiated in 2005 in Canada.
