ABU DHABI // Abu Dhabi University (ADU) has completed a Dh28 million development and modernisation of science labs, classrooms, lecture halls and educational facilities at its Abu Dhabi and Al Ain campuses.
The makeover included creating centres of excellence in scientific research.
It also included the upgrading of computer systems and software, on-campus communications, office and classroom furniture, cafeteria and student lounge areas.
Transportation services were modernised, titles were added to print and electronic libraries and dorms were upgraded.“ADU has started developing a plan to integrate innovation into its courses, which will cultivate the culture of creativity and leadership among students,” said Ali Al Dhaheri, chairman of ADU’s executive board.
The university has launched several programmes – including a masters of law in Arabic, a masters of science in sustainable architecture, a masters of science in electrical and computer engineering and an MBA in aviation management. The programmes were approved by the Commission of Academic Accreditation in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The university is preparing for conferences in mathematics and its applications, practice in education and in sustainable management.
