Abu Dhabi teaching survey findings released

ABU DHABI // A study has found that 92 per cent of primary school teachers in Abu Dhabi have received training and taken part in development programmes.

According to Al Ittihad, The National's Arabic sister-publication, the Teaching and Learning International Survey was conducted by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development.

It also revealed that teachers in Abu Dhabi allocate 77 per cent of their time in class to teaching pupils, 85 per cent of teachers are satisfied with their jobs, 95.4 per cent of teachers feel they can help students respect and uphold the value of learning, whilst 93.1 per cent of them said they can help students in achieving advanced thinking.

In partnership with ADEC, the UAE was the first Arab country to participate in the survey, that targets both school administrations and school teachers, and focuses on the teaching environment and the working conditions of teachers.
