DUBAI // Two men broke into a Starbucks coffee shop on Sheikh Zayed Road and stole Dh18,000.
The thieves – a Yemeni, 24, and an Uzbek, 28 – denied charges of theft and damaging property.
At 6.30am on January 6, the manager of the Starbucks branch arrived to find the main door smashed and the safe damaged.
“I called police immediately,” he said.
The thieves were arrested shortly after, an Emirati police lieutenant said.
“They stopped their car near the place and used sharp tools to break in then split the stolen amount,” he said.
The two will be deported after serving a year in jail.
