DUBAI// A teacher has pleaded guilty at Dubai Criminal Court to insulting her uncle in a dispute over inheritance.
“I did say these words, but they are true and they describe who he is,” the 53-year-old Emirati told the court.
Prosecutors charged her with issuing insults to her 60-year-old uncle between November last year and January this year using the Whatsapp messaging service.
She was also charged with sending a text message that would cause hatred and unrest in which she allegedly damned him and an historic religious figure.
A verdict is expected on April 27.
