DUBAI // A salesman has been locked up for molesting a 10-year-old girl while she was out shopping for toys with her mother.
Indian F M, 40, told prosecutors that he was lured by the devil when he lusted after the little girl and touched her. However, in court he denied a charge of sexual assault.
Prosecutors said that on January 20 this year the girl went into a toy shop in Deira City Centre mall at around 10pm as her mother waited outside.
When the child asked F M about some of the toys he bit his lip and touched himself before touching the girl’s chest, bottom and private parts.
“He was looking at me in a strange way so I walked away to a different section but he followed me and touched me,” said the victim, J A.
The child ran away from F M but he chased her around the shop until she was able to exit and tell her mother what happened.
The woman told her husband, who called police and F M was arrested.
F M was sentenced to six months in jail by the Dubai Criminal Court. He will be deported after completing his sentence.
