Dubai's Security Awareness Committee highlights issue of illegal weapons

DUBAI // Greater awareness of the dangers of illegal weapons must be raised among all members of society, the Dubai Police say.

Speaking at a meeting of the Security Awareness Committee, Col Jasim Khalil Mizra described illegal weapons as one of the biggest threats to community safety.

Maj Gen Mohammed Al Marri, chairman of the committee, said police would continue to raise awareness of all threats to security through campaigns that "inform and educate" the public.
