DUBAI // A cable company will donate one US dollar (Dh3.56) for every online post that sends a positive message to orphans under the care of Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation.

As part of the Ducab and Amaf initiative Gift of Light, a website has been set up, ducabgiftoflight.com, on which visitors can post a positive message that "helps light up a child's day".

“These initiatives serve the local community and reflect the humanitarian vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai,” said Tayeb Al Rais, secretary general of Amaf. “I invite the community to visit the website in large numbers and contribute a few positive words in support of orphans.”

Meanwhile, Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al Mutawa, chief commercial officer at Ducab, said that his company’s humanitarian strategy is based on the UAE leadership’s vision and it is committed to supporting the local community.

Amaf oversees the care of nearly 2,400 children and orphans in Dubai.
