Anoud Ibrahim Al Kaabi had her dream of joining the UAE Armed Forces realised when on Wednesday, she donned fatigues and took part in a military parade.
The Make a Wish Foundation organised a special reception for the girl and her family.
Anoud marched among the infantry and band in a military parade and was given a tour of the shooting range where she also took part in a shooting exercise using training ammunition.
"It is one of the most difficult things for parents to see their sick child unable to participate in all their games and activities," said Hani Al Zubaidi, chief executive of the organisation which fulfils the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
He said the joy a child feels when their dream is realized helps raise their morale and contributes positively to their treatment.
