DUBAI // A delivery man has appeared in court charged with molesting a 13-year-old boy in a lift.
Indian NK, 25, denied the charge and told the court that he only pushed the teen, MM, from Egypt.
Prosecutors told the Dubai Criminal Court that on May 22 the victim was going up to his home in Silicon Oasis at 7pm when NK stepped into the lift and touched him on his private parts and his behind, before requesting MM take off his pants.
“My son was shaking when he returned back from the supermarket. He informed me what happened and I went down to the ground floor of the building to find the man,” said MM’s father, AM.
He told the court that the defendant admitted touching his son.
“I called the police and gave them the defendant,” said the 40-year-old engineer.
The case was adjourned until August 27.
