Crown Prince offers condolences to families of fallen soldiers

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi has met the relatives of two fallen soldiers, offering his heartfelt condolences to their families during visits to their homes.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, visited the relatives of Sergeant Khalifa Hashel Al Mesmari, who died in Yemen this week.

His body was flown back to Abu Dhabi and his funeral in Fujairah was attended by hundreds of mourners. Al Mesmari - who was remembered as a 'wonderful' young man - was one of eight siblings all serving in the armed forces.

"We are all proud of them and their families, who remain steadfast in protecting the glory of the homeland," he said while meeting with Al Mesmari's brothers and father.

Sheikh Mohammed also visited the family ofFirst Warrant Officer Abdul Rahman Abdul Karim Al Ahmad, from Ras Al Khaimah, who died of a heart attack during military training in November.

Sheikh Mohamed was accompanied by Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Director of the Martyrs' Families' Affairs Office at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, and Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court.
