DUBAI // A porter who stole from guests staying at furnished hotel apartments was today sentenced by the Dubai Criminal Court to three months in prison.
TF, a 25-year-old Pakistani, used the key given to him by the hotel's management to steal from the safes provided in the guest rooms at the Grand MidWest furnished hotel apartments. From one such safe he stole $US3,300 and Dh1,500. The theft, which occurred on March 27, was reported by the Iranian tourist HM, 38.
The porter said he returned the money and that he regretted what he did. He will be deported after completing his jail term.
