DUBAI // A 21-year-old man was charged yesterday with raping an eight-year-old girl after kidnapping and threatening her. It is the emirate's third child rape case in less than three months. M R, a Pakistani who is in the country on a visit visa, allegedly raped the Bangladeshi girl on October 22 after he asked her into his car. She was standing outside the Kholafaa al Rashideen Quran learning centre in the Hor al Anz area of Dubai with five other students.
The suspect denied the charges, retracting a confession he claimed was the result of police brutality. "He stopped his car outside the school and offered to buy us juice if one of us would come with him, and that he would give her Dh10 in return," the girl said, according to prosecution records. "The second I jumped in the car he closed the door and drove off." A four-year-old Pakistani boy was killed on November 27 after allegedly being raped by a 30-year-old Emirati man. Dubai police are also investigating the alleged rape of a mentally disabled teenage boy.
M R allegedly took the girl to a parking area and threatened to kill her if she resisted. He then attacked her despite the desperate pleas of the girl, prosecution records stated. @Email:firstname.lastname@example.org
