DUBAI // Two prostitutes and a customer have been sentenced to a year in jail and fined Dh2,000 each.
SG and NJ, both 23 and from Morocco, were arrested after one of them flew into a rage and tried to turn on the fire alarm at the Parkway hotel in Muraqqabat on May 25 last year.
One of them had been having sex with a Kuwaiti man, BS, 27, in his room when a dispute erupted over her payment. The man claimed he had paid Dh2,000 to have sex with the woman, but she disputed this.
A hotel employee called police after the woman tried to turn on the fire alarm.
The Criminal Court fined both prostitutes and the man Dh2,000 each for drinking alcohol. The women were sentenced to a year in jail for prostitution, while the man was sentenced to a year in jail for consensual sex outside of marriage.
They will all be deported after serving their prison terms.
