A man who pledged allegiance to two terrorist groups and provided funds to help them carry out attacks was jailed for 15 years on Monday. The State Security Chamber of the Federal Supreme Court in Abu Dhabi handed down the sentence to A.A.S.B, 45, after he was found guilty of intentionally supporting the Al Nusra Front in Syria, and Al Qaeda. The Public Prosecution investigations showed that he had communicated with members of a banned organisation and transferred money to fugitives who were a part of the groups. He was found guilty of committing an offence under Federal Law No. (7) of 2014 and its amendments concerning Combating Terrorism Crimes. In a separate case, three Gulf nationals were sentenced to three years in prison and ordered to pay a Dh50,000 fine each, while a fourth Gulf national was handed a seven year prison term. The court ordered the confiscation of all the arms and munition found with the convicts as well as the communication devices they used to carry out their crimes, which included trading in weapons without a licence.
