DUBAI // Two employees in Carrefour’s electronics section were this morning handed a three-month suspended prison term for stealing a hard disk from the shelves.
The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance ruled that RH, and AR, both 31 and Filipino, stole the hard disk on February 28 from the Deira Carrefour, removed its tag and hid it in a bag.
Prosecutors said the disk was worth Dh379.
The two were caught on security cameras and referred to police. MB, a 32-year-old security officer at Carrefour, said the men were stopped as they tried to leave after finishing their shift. Security officers found the disk in the bag.
They confessed to the charges when they appeared before court this month.
The verdict can be appealed within 15 days.
