Briton threw glass at man for swearing at him, Dubai court hears

A British man allegedly assaulted a South African man at a nightclub in Souq Al Bihar last year.

DUBAI // A man at a nightclub threw a glass in the face of a person who swore at him, the Criminal Court heard yesterday.

Prosecutors said JKH, 36, a manager from the UK, attacked AF, 25, a sales executive from South Africa, on April 20 last year at a nightclub in Souq Al Bihar. The glass hit him in the face, permanantly damaging his right eye.

A forensics report estimated the disability as constituting a 20 per cent disability for the purposes of compensation.

The man denied a charge of physical assault and the case was adjourned to June 24.
