The UAE can be land of harsh light; probably nowhere else in the world is the old photographic tip of avoiding shooting pictures at noon more important. The strong, unforgiving light and deep shadows hardly ever produce god work. Late afternoon light on the other hand, as this image by Brian Kerrigan shows, is a totally different proposition. The sunlight in this picture bounces off one building onto another, almost like some sort of outdoor surrealist projection show.
