Focal Point: Jumping for joy

Some images capture youthful energy so well they make you smile, and perhaps leave you slightly sad that, as the saying goes, “youth is wasted on the young”. This photo by staff photographer Silvia Razgova, taken near the top of Jebel Hafeet, captures that magic perfectly – in both the leap of the young girl and her expression, which suggests, at that moment, she hasn’t a care in the world.
