DUBAI // Two Filipino cleaners have been jailed for indecent acts against a 7-year-old African child.
The two men, aged in their 20s, took the child back to their accommodation and showed him pornographic videos and encouraged sexual behaviour, reported Al Ittihad, The National's sister publication.
According to court documents, the child’s mother had gone out looking for her son as he failed to return home on time from a nearby playground he went to every day, when she received a call from the housemaid telling her that the child had returned home. He was unwell and started crying and recounted his ordeal to his mother.
Dubai Criminal Court issued its verdict against the accused after several hearings and heard the testimonies of prosecution witnesses and to the child’s testimony.
The two men were sentenced to three months in prison to be followed by deportation.
