Al Noor Island, Sharjah’s newest tourist destination, attracted over 28,000 visitors in its first month.

Attractions include gardens, walkways, wildlife exhibitions and sculptures by leading artists.

“We want to make Al Noor Island a landmark attraction for nature and art lovers and present a cultural image of Sharjah to the world,” said manager Mohammed Al Mazroui.

The island was inaugurated last month by Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, to coincide with the emirate’s selection as 2015 capital of Arab Tourism.
